HC 806 001 Writing as a Public Intellectual
Prof. Damon DiMarco
A distinguishing component of a doctorate in history and culture is public engagement. This writing workshop introduces advanced Ph.D. students to the practice of writing for the larger public, that is, for intellectually and culturally engaged readers of non-academic print and online media.  The goal of the workshop is for each student to learn how to modulate the discursive practices of academic writing into the substantial but accessible writing of a genuinely public intellectual.
