Damon’s books have won praise from Gov. Tom Kean, Chairman of the 9/11 Commission; Pulitzer Prize winners David Mamet and Stephen Adly Guirgis; Academy Award-winning actors Sam Rockwell, Olympia Dukakis, and Mary Steenburgen; Emmy Award-winners Patricia Heaton and Christine Lahti; SAG Award-winners Richard Schiff and Gretchen Mol; and thought leaders such as William F. Buckley and His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Damon’s oral history work has been compared to that of Studs Terkel and the WPA Slave Narratives. He also writes plays, screenplays, and science fiction/fantasy novels.

An actor as well as writer, Damon has appeared in daytime and primetime television, independent and industrial films, regional theater, and trade shows. He often speaks on a variety of topics related to creativity, writing, and acting. 

As the founder of the Writing for Public Intellectuals workshop for PhD students at Drew University, Damon has a particular talent for helping experts translate their expertise into clear language designed to inform and excite a lay audience.
